Deep Fission is proud to partner with the Great Plains Industrial Park and the people of Labette County, Kansas as we develop our first advanced reactor pilot under the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Reactor Pilot Program.

Kansas has a legacy of energy leadership and offers a strong combination of supportive infrastructure, technical suitability, and community partnership. The Great Plains Industrial Park in Parsons provides land, utilities, transportation access, and long-term development capacity that make it an ideal location for our first demonstration reactor through the Department of Energy’s Reactor Pilot Program. We’re proud to partner with Southeast Kansas and look forward to building a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship with the Park and the community.
The project is expected to bring meaningful economic benefits to the region, including high-quality jobs and new workforce development opportunities. Deep Fission is committed to working closely with local institutions to help ensure that residents have clear pathways into these careers. Our goal is to create lasting, community-centered economic growth.
Safety is our top priority. Deep Fission’s reactor is placed deep underground, where the surrounding geology provides natural containment and protection. This design aims to reduce risk and minimize any impact on the surface. In addition, the project will follow strict safety standards, environmental policies, and oversight from the Department of Energy, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, and other relevant agencies. We are committed to clear, accessible communication about how the technology works and how we keep the community safe.
In the months ahead, we will share opportunities for residents to learn more about the project and ask questions. Deep Fission is committed to keeping the community informed as the work progresses, and we’ll provide clear pathways for people to stay updated and engage as they wish.
